COMMUNITY FOR HOPE Campaign Overview

In an effort to bring the issues of safe relationships, interpersonal violence and sexual assault to light in Dare County, Outer Banks Hotline has developed an awareness campaign "COMMUNITY FOR HOPE" for the month of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).   Hotline encourages businesses, schools, churches, clubs and organizations to promote awareness by participating in this campaign.

COMMUNITY FOR HOPE, running from April 1 through April 30, will  include a large fundraising event: “100 FOR HOPE."  It is an easy fundraiser, where each "TEAM" has a GOAL of raising $100.  Outer Bank's Hotline's goal is to have 100 teams from Corolla to Hatteras.  Anyone is welcome to have a team.

"100 FOR HOPE  - RIBBON on the RIDGE" on Saturday, April 29 at Jockey’s Ridge in Nags Head will be the celebration of the month long campaign. It is a THANK YOU to recognize the community members who supported the COMMUNITY FOR HOPE campaign. Participants will carry a teal ribbon 4 feet wide by 60 feet in length up to the top of the dune for a ceremony to honor the victims and survivors of sexual assault. Upon the return there will be food, music, awards and a raffle.
