  • Weekend Residential Advocate - Night Time

    Provide Residential Advocacy for the safe house. Saturday and/or Sunday 8 PM - 8 AM

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Provide safe House services, information and support in a manner that supports Hotline's mission. Come join our team and help Hotline help our community! Weekend Night shift 8 PM - 8 AM

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    Flexibility to work shifts that support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year safe house operation
    Provide crisis assistance/intervention, support and advocacy
    Ensure the security and safety of the safehouse and its residents, handle crisis situations appropriately. Report concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
    Perform necessary safe house operations, including intake, maintaining a shift log, assisting with meal prep, etc...
    Ensure day to day operations occur in compliance with the agencies health and safety procedures
    Provide coverage for the crisis line as needed
    Forward and release the crisis line during non business hours
    Support clients in the completion of their individual plan of service for each client

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Commitment to serving those experiencing interpersonal violence.
    Establish rapport and maintain healthy boundaries with residents and fellow staff
    Ability to interact in a supportive and professional manner with a diverse population
    Ability to maintain agency standards of confidentiality and professionalism
    Demonstrate ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, give clear direction and provide leadership in a crisis situation

    QUALIFICATIONS

    High School diploma or equivalent
    Experience in Microsoft Office, email & Internet
    Must have current drivers license and insurance coverage
    Prefer one year of experience providing direct services

  • Thrift Store Manager - FLOATER

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    HELP HOTLINE HELP OUR COMMUNITY! Join the fun as a Floating Thrift Store Manager! This job can be part/full time. Our ideal candidate will have experience in retail management, marketing or business management. The Floating Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations for the thrift store. Duties include but not limited to managing staff and/or volunteers, assigning duties to staff/volunteers and managing the required tasks for operating the thrift store.
    The floating manager will be experienced in retail sales, possess efficient time management and customer service skills and be able to multi task in dealing with staff, volunteers and customers. This person will be a team player, good delegator and be present to lead their team. This person will be responsible for all daily transactions and reporting to the appropriate personnel and adhere to Outer Banks Hotline code of ethics.

    This position can be part to full time. Flexibility is a MUST! Salary is commensurate to experience.
